Lt. Cmdr. Oscar Mathews may be headed on a one-way trip to Mars. It’s a journey that started with his application video two years ago. Since then he’s survived several rounds of cuts that have whittled down a pool over 200,000 applicants to just 100. The company is Mars One and they’re taking the top 24 candidates to come work for them as Martian colonists. These men and women will train for several more years then ship out on permanent deployment to establish a human settlement on the “Red Planet.” Would you sign up?
